3rd Grade Trip to Play! Sing! Dance! featuring Mozart Opera
11:45 AM at 92nd Street Y
When it comes to combining music with words, there are no better examples than the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Marriage of Figaro is the story of one crazy day in the castle of Count Almaviva—filled with secrets, surprises, mistaken identities, and more. The Magic Flute is the fantastical tale of Tamino, who must journey to distant lands, fight monsters, and pass three trials in order to save his beloved Pamina. Hear arias, duets, trios, and orchestral music from these masterpieces, featuring Orchestra of St. Luke’s and singers from The Juilliard School. Performances will be led by Assistant Conductor of the Dallas Symphony, Karina Canellakis.
For 3rd Graders: The Marriage of Figaro and more music!
