The History of Keyboard Club
As a pianist, I always had a vision to start a keyboard lab for the students at New Bridges. In Fall 2014, I started asking for keyboard donations from the people all around the five boroughs of New York City. Every weekend, I collected gently used keyboards for our Keyboard Club. Casio, a leading manufacturing company of keyboards, found out about my story and generously donated six keyboards to launch the program. In February 2014, the keyboard lab at New Bridges was up and running and so began Keyboard Club at New Bridges!

In May 2014, New Bridges Keyboard Club gave their first recital on a donated 88-key weighted keyboard in the music room.
The next day, Keyboard Club students took an after school trip to the prestigious Steinway Hall and performed in a formal piano recital in the Henry Z. Steinway Room on an $88,000 Steinway grand piano!
Keyboard Club is one of my favorite parts of the music program at New Bridges, and I am so happy to be able to share my love for playing piano with every young pianist!
